Graduate Doctoral Research Assistantship Positions Available in Poultry Science at
Mississippi State University
The Department of Poultry Science at Mississippi State University has two (2) doctoral Research Assistantships (RAs) available July 1, 2012, in the area of food safety. These are 3-year, 12-month assistantships and include a $20,000 stipend and tuition waiver; additional fellowships through competitive processes possible. All graduate students in the department are expected to contribute to undergraduate teaching laboratories.
- Food Safety & Microbiology related to poultry products involving pre-and post-harvest control of Salmonella, Campylobacter, and Listeria monocytogenes in poultry processing environment, fresh and further processed
poultry products. - Pre-harvest Microbiology related to poultry production involving litter amendments and manipulation of
Salmonella and Campylobacter under field conditions.
Qualifications include MS degree in poultry science or in microbiology with strong interest in poultry science.
